Samsung has launched a new moderate priced Android tablet in India at ₹ 17,990. The device comes with a metal body and is available in Black and Gold color options. Samsung is offering one-time screen replacement for ₹ 990 with 12 months validity. Below the display is the physical home button that also comes with an integrated fingerprint sensor.
The Galaxy Tab A boasts of a bright 8-inch display, a large 5000mAh battery. The company says the battery will last almost the entire day. The device sports an 8 inch(800 x 1280) display with a metal body design. The tablet packs a 1.4GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16 GB internal storage. It is also expandable up to 256GB via microSD card slot.
Remarkably, the latest tablet sports a faster processor and more storage over last year’s 7-inch Galaxy tab A. The new Tablet runs on Android Nougat out-of-the-box.
One of the biggest striking feature of the Galaxy Tab A 2017 is the new Bixby Home support that brings Samsung’s AI assistant to the mid-range tablet. Bixby understands and responds to the user’s behavior. It also routine while using the tablet to suggest content and apps based on the usage and location, among other things. The tablet weighs around 364 grams and comes with a Kids Mode that provides a safer UI and a library of curated, educational games for children.
The Galaxy Tab A 2017 brings some stable Samsung features like Blue Light Filter, Smart View to wirelessly connect the cable to the TV, Samsung Flow that tethers the tablet to other Galaxy devices to seamlessly switch between them, and Game Launcher, among other things.
The Galaxy Tab A 2017 features an 8-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture, autofocus and LED flash. On the front 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. There is also a SIM card slot and supports 4G LTE with voice calling. It measures 212.1 x 124.1 x 8.9 mm and weighs 364 grams. Other connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 port.
