Yes, you read that right. This phone is costlier than the iPhone X and its not from Apple, but LG instead. The phone is named LG Signature Edition. It is lined up as an extension to “ultra-premium” LG signature segment of consumer appliances.
The phone is an upgrade to LG’s flagship smartphone, the V30. Priced at KRW 2 million (INR 1,18,178 ) the 256 GB phone is more expensive than the iphone X, whose 256 GB variant comes at KRW 1.7 million (INR 1,02,000). LG has used the Signature brand for its high-end home appliances and TVs, but this is the first time for a phone.
Specs and features
The phone sports a 6.0 inch OLED screen, front and real dual-camera feature and is powered by Android Oreo 8.0 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The front camera is a 5 mega pixel wide-angle shooter. According to LG the front camera an take a group picture even if the angle of view is 90 degrees and the sight angle of 120 degrees is similar to the angle of view of the real person. The dual back camera comes with 16 mega pixel F1.6 lens and a 13 mega pixel F1.9 wide angle lens. Unlike the iphone X or Google Pixel 2, the LG Signature Edition has a 3.5 mm audio jack and includes both wired and Bluetooth earphones.
According to the LG website the phone is made of special processed zirconium ceramics (Zirconium Ceramic) to prevent it from scratches. The same material is used in luxury watches, LG claims. Armed with a 3300 mAh battery high-speed Qi wireless charging the phone comes in black and white colours. It also supports LG Pay.
LG is also providing “Engraving services” for this Signature Edition phone, which allows customers to name their laser on the back of the product if they so desire.
But wait, if you are thinking of buying this premium phone, you have to be really lucky enough. LG will be releasing only 300 units of this phone. And since LG Signature Edition devices are sold exclusively in South Korea, this phone will not be an exception.
