Airtel has hit the headlines again. This time the reason is a new recharge pack of ₹219, for the prepaid customers. To know more, this new tariff plan offers unlimited voice calls, 1.4GB of 3G/ 4G data per day for a validity period of 28 days. A part of the offer also states users entitled to 100 SMSes per day. Interestingly, this new plan is quite similar to the ₹199 recharge pack offered by Airtel, as it offered same data and voice calling benefits. However, under this new plan, Airtel would be also providing its subscribers with unlimited Hello Tunes.
Actually, to be specific, this new plan by Airtel is mainly aimed at subscribers who like to set caller tunes on their numbers. Now, Airtel’s competitor Reliance Jio has been offering this service for free. Now, to avail this ₹219 plan, Airtel prepaid users would need to open the My Airtel app or go to the company’s website. Also, for the users not interested in setting Airtel Hello Tunes, they can still opt for the ₹199 plan that offers 1.4GB data per day or 39.4GB data for 28 days, along with unlimited calls.
Now, quite similar to this ₹219 offer by Airtel, Jio has recharge packs worth ₹149 and ₹198. Under the ₹149 plan, Jio is currently offering 1.5GB data per day for a validity period of 28 days and for ₹198 recharge pack, Jio users would get 2GB of data per day for 28 days. Voice calling is free in Reliance Jio, and users get 100 SMSes per day and a free subscription to Jio apps.
With this, the major telco has recently announced its Rs 49 recharge plan to counter Reliance Jio’s ₹52 recharge pack. Airtel’s new plan offers 3GB data for a day. It can be regarded that, that this ₹49 recharge plan should be apt for binge-watchers and cricket lovers.
