Airtel has come up with its latest venture to capture the lower end of mobile user space. This time, it has launched a new and affordable 4G smartphone at ₹1,349, in collaboration with the domestic company Celkon.
The launching if this ‘Smart 4G’ is not new for Airtel, as the previous part of this month, have witnessed Airtel and Karbonn joining hands together for the launch of the A40 Indian 4G smartphone at an ‘effective price’ of ₹1399. No points for guessing but this move is aimed to take on the Jio Phones, which is effectively priced at ₹0.
Details of the new offer:
With this new offer, users need to make a down payment of ₹2849 for the phone and make 36 continuous monthly recharges of ₹169. Alternatively, they can also purchase recharges worth ₹3000 for the first 18 months and another ₹3000 over the next 18 months that heavily subsidize the cost of the phone. Further, users will also get a cash refund of ₹500 after 18 months and another ₹1000 after 36 months, taking the total cash benefit to ₹1500.

Introduced as a part of ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’, Celkon Smart 4G, which has a current market price of ₹3500, boasts of a 4-inch display, quad-core processor, and a 1500mAh battery. Also, this 4G LTE phone features 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, expandable storage, and dual-SIM support. It also comes with a 3.2MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. The phone has built-in a number of apps from Airtel, including My Airtel App, Airtel TV, Wynk Music, among others. The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
