As the nation will be celebrating the 70th Independence Day this August 15, Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited plans to launch Jio Phone for beta testing in the market. However, the company has announced, this beta trial will only be for a very selective number of users. Depending on the outcome of this beta testing, Reliance Jio will make the Jio Phone available to the members of the public.

The booking for the branded smartphones is scheduled to open on 24th August. According to further information collected from the company sources, the handsets will start getting delivered tentatively from the beginning of September, strictly on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Under the light of the current development, it is anticipated that August 24 will witness a lot of rush throughout the country to register for the Jio Phones. As per reports pouring in from different parts of the country, a large number of users are placing predated orders either online or offline to beat the rush.

A spokesperson from Reliance Jio confirmed, the company aims to deliver 5 million units of the 4G feature phone each week, starting from August 24. As such, more information is expected to come up as the release date arrives nearer. It is important to mention in the ongoing context, Jio Phone is free, but a user has to make a security deposit of Rs. 1,500 for every handset “to avoid any potential misuse of data”. However, this security deposit will be refunded by the company after three years.

Just as with the Jio SIM cards, Aadhar number is the fundamental requirement to avail Jio Phone. However, business owners need to furnish the GSTN or PAN number of their organizations in addition to their personal Aadhar numbers.

Users of the Jio Phone will have to recharge their handsets with a monthly Rs. 153 pack under the Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer. This will entitle them to enjoy unlimited calls, text and 500 MB high-speed 4G data per day. Moreover, they will also get to use the Jio apps and an accessory in form of Jio Phone TV Cable. This cable will allow them to connect their handsets to their TV sets. The VoLTE handset will be supported by a single SIM.

Industry experts are of the opinion that innovative marketing strategies by Reliance Jio will prove helpful for the product to achieve striking commercial success.
