This season, BSNL plans on focusing on 5G services in the Himachal Pradesh circuit to give a strong competition to the ever emerging and rapidly changing telecom sector.
It has also further plans of launching 4G services at Baddi from the Solan district and 3G services for the entire state, in addition to the release of 30,000 new landline connections and 31,000 broadband connections to the subscribers of the state.
According to Ravi Kant, Chief General Manager of Himachal Pradesh telecom circle, BSNL will be focusing on 5G services instead of 4G in the HP Circle as the prime goal is to provide the best and up-to-the minute services to its customers.
He stated about the current financial year where 620 new BTS will be installed in the entire state, out of which 305 will be saved for 3G data services and the rest for 2G for voice services. Finally, he added that all C-dot exchanges in the state will be updated with the Next Generation Network systems(NGN) within this fiscal and 20,000 ports has been approved for this. Also, there are certain plans of installing 134 USO hotspots and 100 off-load for deepening the mobile and Internet services.
Like North, similar situation is also prevailing in the Southern India.
According to G.Muralidharan, principal general manager of BSNL for Ernakulam secondary switching area covering the areas of Ernakulam, Idukki and Lakshadweep Islands, the company is placing 84 2G towers to the already placed 883 towers and 234 3G towers to the present 651 towers.
Known as BSNL’s Onam prepaid mobile plan for ₹ 44 with a one-year long validity, which had its announcement on 7Th August, this plan would present three new tariff voucher( ₹188, ₹289 and ₹ 389, with added value. In addition, all the BSNL mobile phone users with smartphones but without data connection would be able to avail free data services throughout the month.
Lastly, he regarded that with the aim of roping in more customers, broadband services would be introduced and that out of 15 lakhs mobile phone users, 1.5 lakhs of them has completed the procedure of Aadhar card linkage with their mobile phone numbers.
