It seems that the Hackers have set their target. Yes, it is none other than the popular TV series Game Of Thrones, which has hit yet again the headlines, containing the news of the threatening by hackers to release its finale episode of season 7, ahead of its air date. In addition, the hackers have also threatened to unveil the passwords for a number of HBO social media accounts.
This notorious group, who call themselves the ‘Mr.Smith group’, are already ‘infamous’ for hacking several HBO Twitter accounts, and are known for stealing of 1.5 terabytes of data from HBO including scripts of the episodes as well as the personal data of the employees.
As per the reports, this same group is threatening to hack the season finale of the still running 7Th season of GoT. ‘Be ready for GOT S& E6 &E7 as soon as possible’, the warning states.
Now, as per the website, they haven’t really attempted to login into the accounts, owing to legal reasons to check their authenticity. Further, this group have previously provided them information including shooting schedules for WestWorld season 2 and Game of Thrones.
Further, the Hackers have also reportedly demanded $6.5 million in Bitcoin from HBO, in exchange for stopping the information to get leaked.
Lastly, with this threat, this season of GoT witnesses a number of leaks with HBO Spain accidentally leaking the sixth episode and four individuals recently convicted and held guilty in India owing to the leak of the fourth episode.
