Google has revealed a list of all the Android Wear devices in line for the Android 8.0 Oreo update. The list includes both the smartwatches that have already had the upgrade and those that will get it at some point in the future.
The update starts to roll out to the LG Watch Sport and other models. Some of the improvements include customizable vibration strength, a new touch lock option, and support for additional countries and languages. The company at present created the list of watches that will receive the update.
Some of the tactical style watch watches that are eliminated from the oreo support include the ASUS ZenWatch 2 and 3, the original Fossil Q Founder, the LG G Watch R/Urbane/Urbane LTE, the second-generation Moto 360 and 360 sport, and the original Huawei Watch. These wearables will stay on Android 7.0 Nougat, though they will receive bug fixes and security updates.
According to the information, the oreo update for smartwatches does not bring the vast list of new specifications. It’s features includes-
- Get improved battery life
- Customization options for the vibration function, and
- Support for a few extra languages.
Well, it is not an upgrade to the magnitude of Android Wear 3.0, which we might see the roll out next year. The Android wear as a whole has a quiet year in terms of both new hardware and software updates, despite the rollout of Android wear 2.0. Even it can be expected that Google might have big plans for 2018 for taking on Apple Watch.
