Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 5.1

At an event in Moscow, HMD Global made few announcements regarding its Nokia product lineup. The company has launched the updated versions of Nokia 2, Nokia3 and Nokia 5 as Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 5.1 respectively. Notably, the former is an Android Go handset while the latter two are Android One phones with updated design language and hardware.

Nokia 2.1 features

Nokia 2.1 comes with a 5.5-inch HD screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio and offers dual front-firing speakers.  HMD declared three color variants – Blue Copper, Blue Silver and Grey Silver. It is powered by a Snapdragon 425 chipset and is optimized to consume 10% less power than its predecessor. Nokia 2.1 is paired with 1GB of RAM and will be offered with 8GB of internal storage. It is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

The new Nokia 2 comes with 2-day battery life as it houses a massive 4,000mAh battery. It sports an 8MP rear camera with auto-focus and a 5MP selfie snapper. Like the Nokia 1 that was launched earlier this year, the new Nokia 2 runs Android Oreo (Go edition). It is a version of Android Oreo that is designed and optimized for entry-level handsets that run 1GB of RAM or lower. The phone will be available in July at $115 (approx ₹7,800).

Nokia 3.1 features

Nokia 3.1 is a refreshed version of last year’s Nokia 3 which brings a compact form factor along with an updated design language. It brings the dual anodized diamond cut design. It bears a 5.2-inch HD screen with an 18:9 display. Nokia 3.1 is powered by a MediaTek 6750N chipset, delivering 50% more power than before. This will be offered in a choice of 2GB and 3GB of RAM along with 16GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB.

The Nokia 3.1 sports a 13MP rear sensor with LED flash and a feature called automatic scene detection. Up front, you get an 8MP selfie shooter with a wide-angle lens. The phone houses a 2,990mAh battery and supports a micro USB port. The Nokia 3.1 will be available in three color variant. Blue Copper, Black Chrome, and White Iron. Nokia 3.1 has already started shipping priced at 139 Euros (approx ₹10,800).

Nokia 5.1 features

The device sports a 5.5-inch FHD+ display with an 18:9 display and 443 PPI pixel density. HMD says the new Nokia 5 offers 40% smoother performance with a 2.0GHz octa-core MediaTek 6755S chipset. The device is paired with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, respectively with microSD card support.

The new Nokia 5 sports a 16MP rear camera with phase detection auto-focus. Along with, an 8MP front camera with a wide-angle lens. the device comes in three colors – Copper, Blue, and Black. The Nokia 5.1 will be available in July at 189 Euros (approx ₹14,800).
