For setting the perfect grip and bolstering its product portfolio in the Indian market, Honor, Huawei’s sub-brand, revealed its new Honor 9i smartphone.

Priced at Rs.17,999, this latest smartphone comes with a bezel-less 5.9- inch display and four cameras in the Indian market. The sale which will commence from October 14, will spoil the customers for the choice of colors, available in variants like Prestige Gold, Aurora Blue, and Graphite Black. An extra added information for those who are unaware also states that this new phone is identical to the Huawei Maimang 6 which was launched in China last month and the Huawei Nova 2i, which was launched in the previous part of this month in Malaysia.

Honor 9i is the first ever smartphone with four cameras, to make it to India. Further details state of 16MP dual lens camera+2MP lens on the back and 13MP+2MP front camera set up on the front. The front camera also has a smart selfie toning flash.

Here, the company also boasts of launching the only phone in India with dual cameras and FullView FHD+ display. Further, Peter Zhai, President Huawei India Consumer Business Group, added that “We are thrilled to launch a phone, which can be termed a global first, as the Honor 9i is the only phone so far to boast of two dual cameras and FullView FHD+ display”.

Honor 9i is designed with a metal unibody with vertically-aligned dual-rear camera setup. Other features of the back camera include Pro photo mode, Pro video, Light painting, Night shot, Panorama, Slo-mo, and more. Both the front and back cameras support bokeh feature that can be used to click pictures with the subject in sharp focus, while the background is blurred.

The screen boasts of a 5.9-inch Full HD+ screen with 2160 x 1080 pixels and 2.5D curved glass design on top. The phone has a screen-to-body ratio of 83 percent. Powered by Huawei’s own Octa-core Hisilicon Kirin 659 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM, the storage is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card slot.

Backed by a 3340 mAH battery, Honor 9i runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.1 OS skin on top. With the fingerprint sensor on the back, this smartphone comprises of a dual SIM, is 4G VoLTe enabled, supporting a hybrid SIM slot. It also connects well to Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth.

To this, Zhai added that the main motive behind this launch by Honor is the attempt to bring new technology to the Indian market to attract the young crowd.
