Technology company HP Inc launched the HP Sprocket photo printer priced at ₹8,999.


The pocket-sized printer allows its users to print directly from their mobile device instantly. The company said this would be a convenient device for those loves photography and passionate about capturing memories in their daily life through smartphones.

The HP Sprocket photo printer connects perfectly to mobile devices Bluetooth and prints photographs sized 2×3- inches using Zink technology. The Zink photo paper delivers colorful, smudge proof, water resistant and tear-resistant photos without ink or toner cartridges as the entire color need for painting is embedded in the HP Zink photo paper itself.

The HP Sprocket app, free for Android and iOS users can customize with their photographs by adding fun borders, emojis, stickers, filters and fonts available in the mobile application before printing them mentioned by Raj Kumar Rishi, Senior Director, Printing Systems, HP Inc India.

The companion app enables users to print photographs directly from their social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram as well as from their phone’s camera roll. Supporting a range of files types including .jpeg, .gif and png, the app enables users to work on almost any image format, the company mentioned.

Raj Kumar Rishi added, “While smartphones have made it very simple to store our memories digitally, the power of printing photographs cannot be undermined. The moment a digital photograph gets printed it becomes a tangible treasure one can cherish for life”.

So unlike instant cameras available in the market, the HP sprocket would have a lot of choices, apart from the pocket-friendly device.

Availablity and Price 

The device will be available in black, red and white colors from Amazon and also from HP’s own online marketplace. The HP Zink Paper will be available for ₹539 for a pack of 20 and ₹1,249 for a pack of 50, the company added.
