Apple brings in the good news this Yuletide, as the iPhone SE has emerged as one of the most affordable iPhones one can get in India. iPhone users would be really pleased to hear the news that the recent market price of iPhone SE has come down to ₹17,999 for the 32GB variant, down from ₹26,000, with a flat discount of ₹8,000 and is also now available for sale on Amazon India.
Quite interestingly, this is the second time the iPhone SE received a reduction in its price. Also, this second price cut comes at a time when Apple has hiked the prices of its iPhones as a result of the increase in the customs duty from 10 percent to 15 percent. Here, iPhone SE was an exception as it was the only iPhone to be assembled in India by Wistron since 2017.
With the latest decrease in the price, the features of the iPhone SE has become more attractive. It boasts of a 4-inch (640×1136) display and runs on the company’s own A9 chip coupled with 2GB of RAM AND 32GB of internal storage. Further, the phone also features a 12-megapixel rear camera with 5-element lens and True-Tone flash and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera. Unlike the iPhone X, the iPhone SE comes with Touch ID, for users who still prefer Apple’s old biometric solution.
Also, this price slash is a surprise move given that just last week, an additional 5 percent import tax on phones raised the price of iPhones by around 3.5 percent. Apple has also received fiery reactions after it admitted that it had been deliberately throttling processor clock speeds on older iPhones using deteriorating batteries.
Apple had however claimed that this is being done just to ensure that an older battery does not cause issues such as shutdown when the iPhone is operating at peak performance power. On the other hand, Apple had also made it very expensive to have a battery replaced.
