Reliance Jio has created the headlines again. This time it’s all set to roll out its Jio Phone Monsoon Hungama offer from July 21. This scheme was revealed by Mukesh Ambani in the 41st Annual General Meeting on the previous part of this month. Ambani had announced that buyers could exchange their old feature phone with Jio Phone for ₹501 from July 21.

So, now five most important things users need to know about this latest Jio Phone Monsoon Hungama offer:

  • Jio Phone for just ₹501:

Under this offer, a user can avail the JioPhone by paying just ₹501. However, for this customers would have to submit any of their working feature phones to avail this Jio Phone for ₹501. For those who don’t know, the Reliance Jio Phone is available for purchase at ₹1,500 and Jio would be also refunding the amount after three years.

  • The offer starts at 5:01 PM on July 21, 2018:

Quite interestingly, Jio would be starting this offer on July 20, 2018, and that also sharp at 5:01 PM, which again coincides the ₹501 price tag of the Jio Phone after the exchange. To this, Jio released a press statement, which read like, “Starting, 5:01 PM July 20, 2018, customers will be able to exchange any old feature phone (of any brand) for a brand new Jio Phone (existing model) at an effective entry cost of only Rs 501”.

  • Users would get the Jio Phone 1 for ₹501, and not the Jio Phone 2:

Here, a bit of confusion of the users needs to be cleared regarding which feature phone would be Jio offering them after exchanging their existing feature phone. Here, users would be receiving, the first generation Jio Phone and not the newly launched Jio Phone 2. The Reliance Jio Phone 2 would be sold sometime later in August.

  • Jio Phone Tariff plans are valid:

After exchanging their feature phone for the new Jio Phone, users have the options to choose from either the ₹49 or ₹153 JioPhone recharge plan to enjoy the 4G services on Jio network. Talking of ₹49 plan, this is the most affordable plan right now as it gives user 1GB of 4G data and unlimited voice calling for 28 days. Coming back to the ₹153 tariff plan, on the other hand, offers 1.5GB data benefit per day, unlimited voice and 100 SMS per day for 28 days.

  • Right now, no support for Facebook, WhatsApp or Youtube:

Reliance Jio has also announced that the three major applications WhatsApp, Facebook and YouTube are coming to Jio Phone and Jio Phone 2 only on August 15. Existing users can download the above-listed apps from the KaiOS Store that comes pre-loaded on Jio Phones. So, the users expecting WhatsApp right now might be disappointed as well.
