The trending news from the smartphone genre states of smartphone maker YU confirming its comeback in India, today. This one is a Micromax-backed company, which is all set to launch its new smartphone dubbed as “YU Ace” today at 1:00 pm.

Micromax has revived the Twitter handle of YU last week with teasers of the upcoming smartphone. The company had later sent media invites for the smartphone confirming the launch. The smartphone is also expected to come with long battery life as indicated by one of the teasers.

The company had also put out another teaser with the picture of a phone. Now, by looking at this image, the smartphone is seen with a glossy back in a flashy blue color. There’s also a circular fingerprint sensor at the rear. In fact, the camera lens with LED flash is placed at the top left corner of the smartphone. However, right now it isn’t really clear whether the smartphone has a dual-camera setup or a single camera.

However, right now, not much is known or revealed about Yu Ace, but would possibly be a budget smartphone with high-end specifications going by the company’s history.

To look back, the last smartphone launched by YU was Yureka 2 which is priced around ₹11,999. Yureka 2 comes with a full HD 5.5-inch display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, and a 3,930mAh battery. The smartphone also sports a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front snapper.

This also comes with support for a quick charge, 4G VoLTE, dual SIM, along with a rear fingerprint sensor. The smartphone however still runs the older Android 6.0 Marshmallow on the software front. Even after a year of the launch, Yureka 2 is still a competitor against smartphones like Lenovo K8 Note and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.
