On Tuesday Micromax finally released the Bharat Go smartphone which is company’s first phone to run Android Oreo (Go Edition). Micromax in collaboration with the telecom service provider Bharati Airtel has launched its Android Oreo Go smartphone. The handset is powered by Android Oreo Go edition. According to the report, the smartphone was disclosed at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona.
The Bharat go has a MOP of ₹4,399. But, Airtel consumers will be able to purchase it with a cashback of ₹2,000. As a part of Airtel’s ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone Initiative, bringing the effective price down to ₹2,399.
To recall, Android Oreo (Go edition) is a software based on Android 8.1 Oreo. Android Oreo (Go edition) has been designed and optimized for entry-level smartphones that come with 1GB of RAM or lower. The software comes with a stripped down a set of Google apps likes Google Go, YouTube Go, Maps Go and Gmail Go. It also includes apps that can be found in the Play Store which are low on memory and storage.
The handset sports a 4.5-inch (480x 854pixel) TFT display. The dimensions are at 136.5x67x9.6mm
Micromax Bharat Go is powered by a 1.1GHz MediaTek MT6737quad-core processor. Along with, 1GB RAM, Mali-T720 MP1 GPU, and 8GB of internal storage. The smartphone is expandable via a microSD card slot (up to 32GB). Micromax Bharat Go is VoLTE-based dual sim (Micro+Micro).
Micromax Bharat Go sports 5-megapixel rear and front camera, with flash support at both ends.
Battery and other specifications
The Micromax Bharat Go packs a 2000mAh battery. Therefore, it claims to offer 6 to 7 hours of talk time and 170 to 180 hours of standby time. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth, Micro USB, OTG support, and 3.5mm audio jack. The smartphone weighs 130 grams.
The device supports OTG supports which offers the users with mass storage, serial communications, keyboards or mice, game controllers, Ethernet connectivity camera controller and importing photos from a camera.
