Leading mobile brand Micromax partnered with state telecom operator BSNL to introduce 4G VoLTE phone, Bharat-1 priced at ₹2,200. Both Micromax and BSNL will work collaboratively to introduce the best consumer mobile consumer mobile experience, the company said.

The Company added, “Leveraging technology to provide affordable and innovative products and services, Bharat-1 from Micromax is a 4G phone that helps bridge the digital divide and provides users with unlimited calling and unlimited data offers from BSNL at a reasonable cost of Rs. 97 every month”.

With Bharat-1, Micromax, and BSNL together aiming “at providing a compelling 4G phone option to India’s 500 million-plus population that is still Internet unconnected”.

Rahul Sharma, co-founder, Micromax, said, “Both Micromax and BSNL have been working with the aim of bringing the next wave of unconnected users on the Internet. We will now take this vision forward with Bharat-1 and create a compelling proposition for users that is a first in the category”.

The Bharat-1 handset is powered by a 2000 mAh battery and Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It comes with a storage capacity of 512MB RAM and 4GB ROM. The device has 2 MP rear camera and VGA selfie camera. Along with a 2.4-inch QVGA screen, 4G VoLTE, and dual sim connectivity.

It also has various content options under Micromax entertainment ranging from Live TV to music, movies, and videos, which are handy for the suite of entertainment apps, for users to watch their favorite content on the move. the device also supports 22 different languages.

The device will be handy across India at retail outlets starting October 20 onwards.
