Finally, it’s here. Nokia 1, the company’s first flagship device backed by Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition), is available for sale in India. Nokia licensee HMD Global had announced the smartphone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February this year. The Android Go promises to deliver an optimized experience in budget smartphones and also, in addition, would arrive with lightweight versions of Google apps and services, such as Gmail Go and Google Maps Go. The most striking feature of the Nokia 1, is the ability to use Xpress On two-tone polycarbonate exchangeable covers that let users personalize its looks.
Price, specs and other details:
The Nokia 1 price in India is fixed at ₹5,499, and the smartphone is already available across mobile phone outlets in the country. It comes in color variants of Dark Blue and Warm Red. Meanwhile, the Xpress On covers have been priced at ₹450 and would be available to users in Azure and Grey or Yellow and Pink. These covers would be available separately, starting from next month.
HMD Global stated that additionally, telecom service provider Reliance Jio would be offering a cashback offer worth ₹2,200, making the effective price of Nokia 1 reduce to ₹3,299. Buyers would be also getting a 60GB of additional data on the network. The company also claimed in a recent press release that users would be also eligible for a 12-month Accidental Damage Insurance by Servify on opening the Kotak 811 savings account. Finally, a 20 percent discount would be also offered to the users on the first booking ride via RedBus.
