OnePlus is quite in the news this year for its rollout of Android 8.0 Oreo on its smartphones. OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 5 have already set the Oreo build rolling out, while the very recently hasn’t yet received a beta version till now. But, the company had recently hinted an open beta version for the OnePlus 5T that would be available soon.

So as per the hint, OnePlus announced open beta for Android Oreo through its German Twitter account, when translated, read that “Christmas is over, but we still have a present for you! How about the Open Beta for Android Oreo on the #OnePlus5T?” The tweet also notifies that open beta would be now available, but OnePlus’ download page is yet to show a link. However, the tweet suggests that it could be available in the coming days.

So, OnePlus 5T owners interested in downloading the Android Oreo beta version should check-in regularly on the download page to see if the link is live. For others, they would have to wait a while longer for the stable OTA update to roll out, which is expected to happen sometime at the end of January. Further, the 5T sports a 6-inch full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixel) 18:9 display and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is also an 8GB + 128GB variant available for Rs 37,999. The dual-SIM smartphone runs OxygenOS 4.7 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box and comes with a Face Unlock facial recognition feature as well.

Quite interestingly, OnePlus 5 received the OxygenOS 5.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo update, this week previously. OnePlus also announced that it is going to bring OnePlus 5T’s Face Unlock to OnePlus 5 as well as a future update.
