One Plus is in the news this time for introducing a new way to make software updates easier for bug fixes and optimization. With this new OxygenOS update One Plus has initiated the changelog, enlisting the fixes for certain bugs, and issues on the smartphone. Thus, OnePlus has now come up with four of its custom apps on Google Play Store, through which users can easily download upgrades, individually. These apps are namely, OnePlus Launcher, OnePlus Community, OnePlus Weather, and OnePlus Gallery.

OnePlus has termed this initiative as “Individual Application Update”, and these apps are all available for download on Google Play Store. However, it needs to be remembered that this is available only the latest OnePlus 5, OnePlus 3T, and OnePlus 3. The older OnePlus 2, OnePlus One and One Plus X aren’t eligible for this upgrade. OnePlus stated that this is “a small step forward towards the maturation of OxygenOS as a ROM, but we’re excited for the increased capabilities that will give our users”.

This is quite a useful way out i.e. launching individual custom apps,  especially on the part of OEMs, as making updates have now become an easy task and can be done whenever needed. Also, now the bug fixes and performance improvements can be quickly initiated as individual updates are present in the scenario instead of having to release an OS upgrade. Similarly, HMD Global had also made its custom Camera app available on Play Store recently.

Out of the four apps, OnePlus will be releasing Launcher v2.1.5 this week. With this update, OnePlus Launcher will have an optimized home screen folder icon. Further, users can also preview the first four icons in the folder. OnePlus Launcher will also get a revamped style to mark folders that are already opened on the smartphone. The app will also be updated with double finger touch support which will enable the user to hold and drag an item on the home screen. Lastly, the update will have general bug fixes for OnePlus Launcher.
