Recently, Oppo launched its mid-range smartphone, the Oppo 83 in India, which was launched in China a month before. This is quite a unique one with the Face Unlock Tech, available at a price tag of ₹13,990, through Amazon, Flipkart as well as offline retail stores, from January 20. Right now, customers have been offered variants of Black and Gold color.

The main USP of the phone is its AI-based Beauty Recognition Technology, which, according to the claims of the company, “intelligently recognize and bring out your best features and yet retain that distinctive charm that defines every individual”.

Talking of other specifications, the Oppo A83 boasts of a 5.7-inch HD+ LCD display with a 1440 x 720p resolution. Further, it is powered by the Octa-core MediaTek 6763T chipset and 4GB RAM coupled with 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card slot.

Now, talking of the optics again, the smartphone boasts of a 13MP rear camera with a f/2.2 aperture lens and an LED flash. It also has an 8MP front-facing snapper, supporting face unlock along with the above mentioned AI-based beautification mode which had its debut in the Oppo F5. The Oppo A83 is basically a dual-SIM smartphone, which runs on ColorOS 3.2 on top of Android 7.1 Nougat and is backed by a 3180 mAh battery.
