The Oppo Find X is all set for its launch today i.e. 12th July, at an event in New Delhi. To look back, this flagship smartphone was globally unveiled at a Paris event last month, where the Oppo Find X boasted of a novel motorized camera slider mechanism that boasts of both the front and rear cameras. The main aim behind the design decision was to minimize bezels on the display, a trend that has seen choices like the display notch, a front camera on the bottom panel, and in fact also a pop-up front camera. Other highlights of this Oppo Find X include 3D facial recognition, AI-based camera features like front portrait mode, the top-end Snapdragon 845 SoC, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of inbuilt storage, an all-glass body, and of course, including fast charging. The launch would be live streamed from 12:30 pm IST, and users would be able to watch the live stream below.

Oppo Find X: Price

At its launch event in Paris, the Oppo Find X price was set at EUR 999 which is roughly ₹79,000, with availability in August. Similar price features can be expected for the smartphone in India, and a release date towards the end of July seems probable, if not in August itself. Oppo is not expected to bring the Oppo Find X Automobili Lamborghini Edition to India, with specs and features like 512GB of inbuilt storage and Super VOOC Flash Charge which takes only 35 minutes to fully charge the battery on-board.


Oppo Find X: Specs and features

The dual-SIM (Nano) Oppo Find X runs on ColorOS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo, boasting of a 6.42-inch (1080×2340 pixels) full-HD+ AMOLED display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 93.8 percent screen-to-body ratio, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Also, this is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 845 SoC with Adreno 630 GPU and 8GB of RAM.

As mentioned before, the Oppo Find X sports a motorized camera slider that contains both the front and rear cameras, and rises when needed, inclusion of smartphone unlocking system like 3D facial recognition. The company terns this as facial scanning tech O-Face Recognition, and like the iPhone X it uses IR sensor and 15,000 dot projection to better analyze and recognize a face.


The Oppo Find X’s rear dual camera setup states of a 16-megapixel primary sensor camera with LED flash, OIS, and f/2.0 aperture, and a 20-megapixel secondary camera with f/2.2 aperture. It further boasts of a 25-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone also packs a 3730mAh battery with VOOC fast charging. Connectivity options include USB-Type C port, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5 LE, and GPS. The Oppo Find X dimensions measure 156.7×74.3×9.4mm, weighing about 186 grams.
