In the latest development, Samsung announces price cut for its Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 smartphones in India. This is a significant development for the Indian audience, as Samsung holds the lion’s share of the country’s smartphone market.

As a result of this price slash, Samsung Galaxy A5 will now be available at INR 22,900, in contrast to its earlier price of INR 26,900. Similarly, Samsung Galaxy A7 is now priced at INR 25,900, down from INR 30,900. According an official press release, the price slash has been made, keeping in view the upcoming festive season in the country.

It is relevant mentioning here, both the handsets were made available in the Indian market, since March this year. As such, both the products turned out to be significantly popular in the market. Outstanding features that Samsung packed with these two handsets included cameras with low-light optimisation, IP-68 rating for water and dust resistance, a simplified user experience (UX) of the camera and so on.

Considering all these cutting-edge features, the Samsung Galaxy A5 and A7 were unique products in the market, in their particular price segments. However, the two products differ in their screen size, physical dimension, battery capacity and weight. Galaxy A5 has a 5.2-inch screen with Super AMOLED display, 3,000 mAh battery and weights 157 gms whereas Galaxy A7 has 5.7-inch screen, 3,600 mAh battery and measures 186 gm in weight.

This sudden price cut is expected to boost sales for the Samsung handsets. Market analysts point out, the South Korean multinational conglomerate has chosen the right time to offer the price slash. The country is slowly gearing up for the prolong festive season, spanning over a month. The cost cutting will entice scores of floating customers to end up buying any of the Samsung handsets, even if that means going slightly over their estimated budget.
