Finally, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is finally revealed. After a trail of leaks and that speculated a lot about the price and specs of this latest device of the Galaxy Note family, the phone was recently unveiled at a gala launch event in Brooklyn, New York. The highlights of this latest smartphone are an upgraded S Pen with Bluetooth support, a bigger battery, and the biggest display till now, in the Note series. Additionally, this Galaxy Note 9 also supports a total of 1TB internal storage, with the top-end model that boasts of 512GB of built-in storage along with microSD cards of up to the same capacity. Also as per expectations, users would also get the other flagship specifications like up to 8GB RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC in the US and other markets, while the phone would ship with Samsung’s own Exynos 9810 chipset in India.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9: Price in India and launch offers

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 price in India has been fixed at ₹67,900 for the variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage. On the other hand, the model with 8GB RAM and 512GB inbuilt storage costs around ₹84,900 in the country. The smartphone would be available for pre-orders from August 10 to August 21, suggesting sales to start on August 22. Pre-bookings can be done both online and offline, and the entire sum needs to be paid. Alternatively, buyers can, in fact, opt for no-cost EMIs on credit cards and Bajaj FinServ cards.

Buyers would also get the Gear Sport worth ₹22,900 for ₹4,999 on pre-ordering the new handset. It would also come with exchange discount of up to ₹6,000 on Samsung Shop.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9: Specs and features

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 dual SIM variant would be launched in India, running on Android 8.1 Oreo along with Samsung Experience UX on top. This would feature a 6.4-inch Quad HD+ (1440×2960 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity Display panel, making it the biggest display yet in the Galaxy Note series. Under the aegis, the India variant of the handset packs the Exynos 9810 SoC, coupled with 6GB and 8GB RAM options. Talking of storage, the Galaxy Note 9 has 128GB and 512GB of onboard storage options that both are expandable via microSD card which is up to 512GB.

Galaxy Note 9 has a horizontally-placed dual rear camera setup that includes a 12-megapixel dual pixel sensor along with a wide-angle lens that has a variable f/1.5 and f/2.4 aperture and a 12-megapixel sensor along with a telephoto, f/2.4 autofocus lens. Both these sensors are powered by dual OIS (optical image stabilization) supporting features like 2x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom. For selfies, there is an 8-megapixel sensor backed by a f/1.7 aperture, autofocus lens. There is also a scene optimizer with 20 scene types. Also, the handset has features such as flaw detection that can detect features like blinking of an eye, lens smudge, and backlight to improve images. Further, there are HDR and live focus modes and an AR Emoji feature that first arrived on the Galaxy S9 models earlier this year.


Talking about the connectivity options, these include, 4G VoLTE (LTE Cat. 18), dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, ANT+, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, barometer, gyroscope, geomagnetic sensor, hall sensor, heart rate sensor, proximity sensor, RGB light sensor, Iris sensor, and a pressure sensor. There is also a fingerprint sensor that sits just below the rear camera setup.

Samsung has given a 4000mAh battery on the Galaxy Note 9 that supports fast charging and is also compatible with wired and wireless charging technologies. The battery pack is notably 21 percent bigger in capacity than what was previously available on the Galaxy Note 8. Samsung has also embedded street speaker tuned by AKG and an enhanced security offering through Samsung Knox and biometrics. On the front dimensions, the Galaxy Note 9 measures 161.9×76.4×8.8mm weighing around 201 grams. The Bluetooth-enabled S Pen measures 5.7×4.35×106.37mm and weighs 3.1 grams. Besides this, both the Galaxy Note 9 and its S Pen are IP68 rated.
