Truecaller is here with its new feature called Backup for Android. This is the latest feature launched by Truecaller enabling users to back up and restore contacts, call history, block list, and settings to Google Drive. Also, the company added that Trucaller backup option helps users when they would change their smartphones, get new SIM cards, reset handsets, or even re-install the app.
Though not confirmed, this new backup feature would be available on Android smartphones within the ‘next couple of days’. To this, Truecaller added that “With just a click of a button, Truecaller will backup all your contacts, call history, call logs, block list and settings preferences to a file that will be stored on your Google Drive”.
With this, the users who do not have a Google Drive account would get a prompt to create one, the next time the app is updated. With the next Truecaller app update, users would have to setup the backup. Along with this, users would be able to select how often the app would backup data, such as daily, weekly, monthly, or never.
Talking of restoration of data, users first would have to give access to the Google Drive account to Truecaller and the data which is last saved gets restored again. Another feature of the latest update states of the Truecaller Contacts. This update saves every number a user calls on, sends SMS to, or make transactions with. Also, with this update, users would be able to pull back the numbers from months back, even if they were not saved.
Truecaller had announced the rollout of several new features for its Android app. These include Simple OTP and improvements to Flash messaging with Simple Copy OTP, and with this, Truecaller has also created a shortcut that provides users with a one-tap way to copy the OTP directly from the notification sent to their handsets. Lastly, it had also improved the Flash messaging feature providing a more polished design.
