WhatsApp Sticker Feature

Many popular messaging platforms have been offering its own stickers like Line, WeChat, Skype, Facebook Messenger, and Allo. But WhatsApp has no such stickers, at least not yet. According @WABetainfo on Twitter, WhatsApp Beta version 2.18.218 brings a preview of the incoming sticker feature. WhatsApp is adopting stickers and its users will be able to access the sticker store same as Skype.

WhatsApp first announced that stickers were coming back in May during Facebook’s F8 developer conference. Stickers will be handy sometime in the future. As of this, however, there is no release concrete release date for when we might start seeing them. The tweet shows off two unreleased sticker packs: Bibimbap Friends and Unchi & Rollie.

At present, there is not any obvious way to actually enable these stickers to work. We will have to wait until the feature officially arrives either in the beta or public releases. Sometimes, emoji don’t’ offer the best way to express oneself and stickers might be preferred. Besides this, they are often cuter then emojis.

WhatsApp Stickers will probably be available later this year on iOS, Android and Windows 10 Mobile assuming patterns hold.

To recall, WhatsApp has recently submitted new update through the Google Play beta Program, bringing the version up to the 2.18.216 version.

Mark as Read shortcut feature

‘Mark as Read’ shortcut feature in the Notification Center is not available yet.

WhatsApp is working in order to add this feature, adding new improvements in the next updates. It’s not available yet for development reasons and the feature needs to get many other improvements before to be enabled for everyone.

Mute shortcut feature

This feature is enabled for everyone on 2.18.216 version. This feature allows to quickly mute a chat, directly from your Notification Center.

How does it work?

When you receive 51+ messages from the same chat, you will find a new button called Mute in the WhatsApp Notification. The Mute shortcut won’t appear if you have received less than 51 messages.
