Xiaomi is here again with the announcement of the launch of its latest audio product in the Indian market, i.e. the Mi Pocket Speaker 2. It boasts of a minimalist design, Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity, a 5W speaker, and a claimed 7-hour battery life with continuous music playback. Also, interestingly, launched in the country on the occasion of World Music Day on June 21, the Mi Pocket Speaker 2 would be available at a price of ₹1,499 exclusively via Mi.com starting on the very day. This speaker, available in Black and White color options, also accompanies the Mi Bluetooth Speaker Basic 2.

To know more, this Mi Pocket Speaker 2 is a wireless speaker that can be paired with any smartphone, tablet, laptop, or any other Bluetooth device. It is equipped with Bluetooth v4.1 that would transfer the audio data from the input source to the speaker.

Talking about the design, the Mi Pocket Speaker 2 has a ‘minimalist design’, with the upper portion built of aluminum with anodized oxide coating while the lower part has PC + ABS alloy (Polycarbonate-ABS) that also houses an LED indicator. Xiaomi has in fact partnered German audio equipment manufacturer Tymphany to build the Mi Pocket Speaker 2. In addition, it also has a fabric net to deliver ‘perfect’ bass and treble.


With Bluetooth 4.1 capabilities, the Mi Pocket Speaker 2 has an effective coverage of up to 10 meters. This is also supported by a 1200mAh battery, under the hood, with a capacity of 3.7V. It has a working temperature of between-10 degrees Celsius and 40 degrees Celsius, with a USB power input of 5V/ 1A (5W).

Dimensions of the Mi Pocket Speaker 2 are 60x60x93.3mm. The front of the speaker also has an LED status indicator, and the built-in microphone, in fact, allows users to make calls, with music getting automatically paused upon receiving a call. Notably, its predecessor, Mi Pocket Speaker, yet now hasn’t been announced in the Indian market.
