Xiaomi has recently unveiled its new MIUI 10 ROM at its recent launch event at China. Now based on a recent teaser video from the company, it looks like Xiaomi is gearing up to roll out the global version of the MIUI 10 ROM at New Delhi on June 7. In fact, the company is expected to launch the Redmi Y2 the same day.
Also, this, 21-second video has been initially spotted on a company forum but was later shared by Xiaomi India’s Vice President and Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain. As known already, Xiaomi has already announced the rollout of MIUI 9 last year while also launching the Redmi Y1, which might be also regarded that this is the predecessor to the upcoming Redmi Y2.
Now, Xiaomi’s latest ROM boasts of plenty of design changes. However, the focus has been more on AI integration. One of the key new features of the ROM is the AI Portrait mode. Xiaomi, in fact, claims that it can enhance Bokeh images, regardless of the users working with single or dual cameras. There is also said to be an AI Preload feature, which analyses the app usage pattern and reduces loading times, in order to make the experience more seamless. Other features of the ROM include navigational gestures, a driving mode, and support for smart home devices.
Xiaomi devices eligible for this MIUI 10 update:
As per Xiaomi, this latest update would be available for Mi 8, Mi Mix 2S, Mi Mix 2, Mi Mix, Mi 6X, Mi 6, Mi 5, Mi Note 2, Redmi S2, and Redmi Note 5 smartphones. Again, the public beta has been slated for late-June, with the same eligible devices. In late July, the public beta would be made available for the Mi Note 3, Mi 5X, Mi 5c, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi 4, Mi 4c, Mi 4S, Mi Max 2, Mi Max, Redmi 5, Redmi 5A, Redmi 5 Plus, Redmi 4, Redmi 4A, Redmi 4X, Redmi 3S/ Redmi 3X, Redmi Pro, Redmi Note 5A, Redmi Note 4 Qualcomm/ Redmi Note 4X, Redmi Note 4 (MediaTek), and Redmi Note 3 (Qualcomm)
Now, about the Redmi Y2:
Now, there is also a lot of anticipation for the Redmi Y2 as well. As per rumors, this phone is the re-branded version of the Redmi S2 that was launched in China last month. The phone is expected to feature a 5.99-inch display and Snapdragon 625 SoC. There is also said to be a dual-camera setup at the back. However, the focal point of the phone is the front camera, which is said to feature a 16-megapixel sensor and soft LED flash for taking better selfies. The expected price for the phone is ₹9,999.
