Right now the trending news is from Xiaomi. Finally, it has confirmed the launch of its Redmi Note 5, at a live streaming event of New Delhi. This smartphone by the Chinese smartphone maker company has been unveiled by the company’s India head Manu Kumar Jain and product manager Jai Mani taking the stage to do the honors. This time, the specs state of bezel-less design, 18:9 aspect ratio, and larger 5.99-inch display. The battery capacity is 4000mAh battery and is half a millimeter thinner than last year’s model. Here, it also needs mentioning that in addition, the Redmi Note 5 Pro with 6GB RAM and dual rear cameras, and Mi LED TV 4 has been also unveiled at the event.
Specs and features of the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro
The Redmi Note 5 camera boasts of a 12-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture, 1.25-micron pixel size, PDAF, and an LED flash module. The company here also discussed its HDR algorithm that would enhance photos to deliver improved quality over the previous models in this range. Under the aegis, there is also the Snapdragon 625 processor, with two variants, namely, 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. The company has designed a special charger exclusively for the Indian market and would be giving a transparent silicon case free with the device.
The Pro handset would also be having a global debut, showcasing Snapdragon 636 processor under the hood, and a dual camera setup on the back (with 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel sensors). It would be available only with one internal storage option (64GB), and two RAM variants, namely, 4GB and 6GB. Both the Pro model and its sibling would be available in four color options, namely Black, Lake Blue, Gold, and Rose Gold.
The price and availability details state of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 to be available in India at a starting price of ₹9,999 for the variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, and ₹11,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage option. As for the Redmi Note 5 Pro price in India, buyers would have to spend ₹13,999 for the 4GB RAM variant and ₹16,999 for the 6GB RAM model. Both smartphones would go on sale in India via Mi.com, Flipkart and Mi Home offline stores starting February 22, and also would be available in other offline stores.
The Xiaomi Mi TV 4 has been also unveiled at the event, boasting of a 55-inch 4K display (3840×2160 pixel) display, and a frameless design. It also has an integrated Mi TV Bar with 10 speakers, 2 wireless rear satellite speakers, and a subwoofer. The TV also supports Dolby Atmos audio technology with 2 up-firing speakers for what the company claims can offer “an immersive 3D sound experience.” Right now, the Mi LED TV 4 (55) price in India has been set as ₹39,999. Buyers would also get a free installation, priced at ₹1,099, from the company on purchasing the Mi TV 4 within 3 months of release. It would go on sale via Mi.com, Mi Home stores, and Flipkart starting February 22.
