Finally, its launched. The Xiaomi has recently launched its new smartphone in China. To know more, this is a budget device aimed at the Chinese and Indian markets. To delve deep, Xiaomi’s Redmi S2 states a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with a range of Artificial Intelligence, based on features for better portrait shots. Xiaomi Redmi S2 would go on sale in China at a starting price of CNY 999, which is ₹10,000 approximately. Also, the top-end model of Xiaomi Redmi S2 is priced at CNY 1299 i.e. around ₹14,000 approximately.

This handset is supposed to be arrived in three variants, namely, 2GB RAM + 16GB storage, 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. Redmi S2 has been listed on Chinese certification agencies TENAA and 3C, as well as on e-commerce website Aliexpress. According to the listings, the handset sports a 5.99-inch display with HD+ resolution (720×1440 pixels), 18:9 aspect ratio, and narrow bezels on the sides. Also, it is said to arrive with Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9 operating system. The Redmi S2 would be backed by Snapdragon 625 SoC, with Adreno 506 GPU for graphics. The color variants include Black, Rose Gold, Gold, White, Blue, Red, Pink, Grey, and Silver.

The selfie camera would be the highlight of Redmi S2, with AI portrait mode and AI beautification at the center of it all, complementing 16-megapixel sensor in front. Speaking of the rear camera, official photos show a vertical dual camera setup, suggesting a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. According to the TENAA listings, the smartphone would also have microSD card support up to 256GB for storage expansion, but the Aliexpress listing caps the same at 128GB. The Redmi S2 battery capacity is said to be 3080mAh. Lastly, it would reportedly weigh 170 grams with dimensions of 160.7×77.3×8.1mm.
