Microsoft has created headlines this time. It is bringing its most powerful Surface Book i.e. the Surface Book 2 to India. With this, the company also confirmed that Surface Book 2 would be launching in 17 more countries, including in India this year, though the exact dates haven’t been confirmed yet.
Also, certain confirmations are needed in lieu of its probable price bracket. As of now, it is only known that both the 13-inch as well as the 15-inch models would be coming, and they would likely cost huge because that’s how Microsoft’s Surface line-up has been designed, i.e. to offer high-end hardware, the very latest in Software, and sky-rocketing prices. The Surface Book 2, for the user’s reference, starts at $1499 in the US, that would be roughly ₹97,500.
To look back, this Surface Book 2 was launched around October last year alongside the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. Under its aegis, it packed an 8th Gen Intel Core processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 and 1060 discrete graphics. Microsoft, in fact, claimed that the Surface Book 2 is five times more powerful than the original Surface Book and twice as powerful as Apple’s MacBook Pro.
Specs and features:
The Surface Book 2 would be available in two sizes, namely, a 13.5-inch variant with a 3000×2000 pixel resolution, and a 15-inch option with a 3240×2160 pixel resolution. The screens are even detachable so that it could be used as a tablet. Also, both the variants have an aspect ratio of 3:2 and with this Microsoft claimed 17 hours of video playback, which is 70 percent more than what the MacBook Pro offers. As a tablet alone, Microsoft promises up to 5 hours of battery life on the Surface Book 2.
Connectivity options are quite wide, including two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, one USB Type-C port, a full-size SD card reader, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.1 LE. It also boasts of an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The Surface Book 2, in addition, supports the Surface Pen as well as the Surface Dial.
