Google is here to steal the show again. This time, the showstopper is Pixelbook. This is nothing but a new age laptop by Google, in a line of flagship Chrome OS laptops that are definitely attractive and expensive. Further, it also follows the Chromebook Pixel both in its stunning design and mouth-watering price.

Versatility is the word for this new PixelBook. Also, even if found similar to Lenovo’s Yoga Book in design, it serves the purposes of a normal laptop, or that of a tablet, when the screens are folded right back. Best used by propping it up in a ‘tent’ mode for watching a film.

Google has created this high-end Chromebook with Chrome OS, Google Assistant, and 4-in-1 design. Added to this, are the very attractive 12.3-inch and a 2400×1600 resolution touchscreen with Quad HD LCD, a wide trackpad, soft-touch keyboard, and a backlit design. The Pixelbook is also crazy thin at just over 10mm, weighing a fraction over 1kg.

At a recent official event, Google confirmed about Pixelbook that it would fully support the Google Play app store, including typically mobile-focused apps like Snapchat. Google Assistant can be activated also by voice or a button on the keyboard, where the voice assistant can perform tasks or answer questions.

Pixelbook is backed by an Intel Core i5 OR i7 processor, extending up to 16GB of RAM, and SSD storage up to 512GB. Talking of accessories, it comes with two USB-C for charging. If using a Pixel smartphone, the user can also set the Pixelbook to automatically tether data if there is no availability of the Wi-Fi.

Along with this aluminum-bodied Pixelbook, Google also takes pride in declaring the debut of Google Pixelbook Pen for handwriting recognition. Google has partnered with Wacom for the enhancement of the pen, making it ‘the fastest stylus experience ever “with only 10ms of latency.”

The Pixelbook also states of a button that can be used to circle photo or text on the screen. The users can search for words, find out more about a picture, or add an event to the calendar, and a lot more. However, till now it is not clarified that how the Android apps will support the stylus.

Pixelbook has a battery lasting up to 10 hours, and even if the user runs low on juice, 15 minutes of charging would fetch two hours of extension. Dual speakers, four microphones, and a 720p camera are also found on the laptop.

Google has priced the Pixelbook at $999, while the pen is $99. Its availability will be ensured in US, Canada, and the UK from October 31. Lastly, Google is also offering a $249 protection plan for the laptop at purchase.
